Subject: PR application rejected on Sept 16 2004
  Hi

My PR application as skilled worked has recently got rejected and I wanted to know if the file would still be open or would i have to make a new application. I have waited for 2 years already for this answer from the
canadian consulate from buffalo, a new application would mean another 2 years ?

When I applied I was studying for my Master´s degree in US , and the visa office had sent a mail in Jan 2004 , asking me to submit proof of the degree. Since I moved back to my native country , there was some problem with my mails and I never received that mail. I had sent a change
of address fax, which never went through I guess. So the mail asking for more documents was returned back to the Consulate.

Also I was given zero for adaptability .I have got married in Sept 2004 and I can get extra points for adaptability too now.

I have 61 points out of 67. I can get 2 extra points for MS, 5 for adaptability and Have one more year of experience after I sent the application. That becoems 2 years . So another 2 points. i feel i can fit the criteria now .

can I just send these documents and ask for re-assessment ? I dont want to go through Federal court and appeal process , what other option do I have ?

Any ideas/suggestions, please do write back

rejection (in reply to: PR application rejected on Sept 16 2004)
we just had our file closed because they did not receive the documents that we sent. Their answer to us... apply again, mention what has happened in a letter and they will do thier best to process the file quickly. We have lost 6 months - and we have 74 points. I think we can offer new information up until the time they make a decision.

one more thing (in reply to: PR application rejected on Sept 16 2004)
you will need to apply through the consulate that looks after the country where you now live.
