Subject: JUST GOT MARRIED..HAVING A BABY!!
  Hi,

I am a canadian citizen whoI recently just got married in july to my husband who is a US Citizen, and I´m 8 1/2 months pregnant. He currently resides in WA but is in canada visiting till I give birth. He was denied port of entry into canada in july 2005 because of a previous DUI in WA but he was able to come to canada on a temp res visa but has now expired. He will be returning to WA after the baby has arrived. I don´t want us to be apart while the baby is born and I want to sponsor him to canada and I wanted to know wether or not it is easier for me to have him sponsored from within canada or should I sponsor him outside of canada? And do I have to apply for rehabilitaion for him before submitting a Sponsorship application? I´m in need of some advice on how to go about sponsoring my husband without being away from him too long with our newborn coming up. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I need all the help I can get. Thank you.

Spousal sponsorship outside is way faster and can be appealed if you get a negative decision.

Do the rehab the same time as the application and BE SURE he is recorded on the statement of the live birth and let papa cut the cord. Everything should be fine based on when the over 80 conviction occurred.

Best of luck mama to be.

Thanks ROY (in reply to: JUST GOT MARRIED..HAVING A BABY!!)
Thanks so much Roy, I feel much better knowing that processing time will be faster by applying outside of canada. I will just have to make the sacrifice to come and visit him every month after the baby is born. He was convicted of his DUI twice one in 2000 and another in 2004 so I am really worried that his recent DUI would give us a big problem during the application. He has quit drinking since we met in 2005..wish I would of met him sooner.

Do you think he will have a hard time going back to the US after being in canada for a few months after his permit has expired?
