Subject: Please help! Sponsoring husband in the U.S.
  Hi everyone,
Any help would be much appreciated. I am a Canadian currently living in the US. I am sponsoring my husband, who is American and we had hoped to relocate to Canada next summer. I was almost done completing my paperwork when i saw the wait times for the FBI fingerprint and the medical exam requirement. I am now getting really nervous as we really need to be in Canada by next summer (my husband´s current job will be over by then, and he will need to have a new one by next summer).
My questions are these:
1) Should i go ahead and send in the app materials i have now, just to get the ball rolling? and then send the medical exam and fingerprints later? and
2) If he gets offered a job before sponsorship is approved, would it be really tough for him to get a work visa in the mean time? We can not afford for him to not work once we get into Canada.

Any help is SO much appreciated.
Thank you so much,
Wendy

You can do the medical now! Get the state proof of no convictions or at least get a name search showing no outstanding wants or warrants. Stop worrying and go after the FBI checks.

The medical form is on the country specific forms area! The list of Designated Medical Practionners (sp) for your area is their to. Medical takes about one hour to complete.

You have to put down when you plan to return to Canada and arrive the same day or before he does. HGalf are completed within 7 months so get to work girl!

SEE http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/applications/spouse.html

NOW MAKE SURE THAT YOU AND YOUR PARTNER WRITE AT LEAST ONE PAGE LETTER IN 12 FONT WHY YOUR MARRIAGE WILL CONTINUE AND WHY IT IS GENUINE!

Remeber each of you may be the person of your dreams but the visa officer is married too and his/her spouse does not walk on water so yours shouldn´t either.

Tons of non-marriage photos showing a bond between the two of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
