Subject: INCOME REQUIREMENT ! |

Hello everybody,
I have a question concerning the family class sponsorship: my husband and I have recently applied under family class and I am a little concerned whether my income will have an influence on our application. This is why: I work for a good company and have a good hourly pay, but I only work part time, 6 months a year, which brings me to about $10,000 annually. I also currently live with my mother and my broher, and am still going to the university, and my husband is a programmer. I am not, and have never been on welfare or any kind of social assistance. Will this small income prevent me in any way to be my husband´s sponsor?
Thank you!

(in reply to: INCOME REQUIREMENT !) Hi,
As far as I know, there is no income requirement for sponsoring a spouse. I believe there are only two exceptions to this and they are:
1) You live in Quebec and you & your husband plan on living there once he gets permanent residence.
and/or
2) Your husband has a dependent child that you will also be sponsoring.
I hope this helps.

(in reply to: INCOME REQUIREMENT !) Oops, I was wrong about the 2nd one. It should have been:
~If you are sponsoring your spouse and they have dependent children who have dependent children of there own.
