Subject: Requirements at Port of Entry
My wife, our son and myself are currently resident in Canada on work/study permits. We have just received our passsports back from
Buffalo with the PR stamp. I understand wee would need to leave Canada´s borders and re-enter to complete the PR formalities.
We also have a second son ( a newborn), born in Canada, who only has a Canadian birth certificate .. but no Canadian passport till now. As we need to travel with our baby, is it necessary for our baby to hold a Canadian passport to re-enter Canada or is his birth certificate adequate??
Pls advise

Canadians have a right of entry. You don´t need a passport to re-enter Canada if you are Canadian - however you have look at the entry requirements of the country you are going to use to re-enter Canada.

Apply for a PPT and explain the situation we did it for our sone in one week. The PPT will be only good for three months then will have to be renewed. You can do it with a statement of live birth or a Canadian Birth certificate.

If you have a visa or if you don´t have a visa walk across the bridge to the US and they will direct you back to the Canadian side and YOUR LANDED
