Subject: Can I qualify with 66 points initially?
Hi, I want to migrate to Canada. My total score is 66. Will I qualify in the initial stage? Or can I get extra 1 mark when I will face the interview? Pls suggest me regarding this issue.
Thanks.

Yes (in reply to: Can I qualify with 66 points initially?)
Technically yes. The visa Officer has discretionary power for granting extra points if she thinks that you are able to settle in Canada successfuly. But I havenot heard anyone being granted in that way.

fill in your short form and saying 67 and work like crazy to have 67 by the time they ask for supporting documents. If you don´t have it - you lose your application fee.

that is all I can suggest. Given the number of people waiting for admission into Canada - while they say 66 is technically still possible - I would not be hopeful

that is the best I can do.

Not bad answer BI impressed.

It is called substituted evaluation and its based on the applicants ability to establish themselves. You have to request it and the procedure is found in OP6 section 11.3 you should also look at regualtion 76 (3).

Quoting Manual

It R76(3) makes possible substituted evaluation by an officer. This authority may be used if an
officer believes the point total is not a sufficient indicator of whether or not the applicant may
become economically established in CanadaR76(3) makes possible substituted evaluation by an officer. This authority may be used if an

I have had clients approved this way and know of other representatives that have substituted evaluation as well.

Good Luck

Roy - don´t try to patronize Mimu and try to collect her for a client.

You have not given full answer. You need to see the break-up of points. If points on Education and Language are weak - you will not qualify. What do you mean by simply stating I have clients approved this way?

Mimu - see your break-up do you qualify on Education and Work Experience. If you are weak on these then you need to wait so your points are passing level.

Peter, why are you jumping on Roy!. Mimu asked a question and Roy gave an honest answer. It is possible and he told her how.

I guess some people have to make a choice. if they want something that is generally ´not done´ then they may need help. I don´t see any arm twisting here. My suggestion cost her nothing.

Neither of our suggestions are a guarantee.

The other point is by the time they look at your application you may have another year of work experience so you will be fine anyways.

Roy... is this one of the silent untold advantages of the short form applications? obviously when it is time to cough up your documents you have to prove your worth but it appears to be offering people a little wiggle room.

downside... there will be applications submitted on a hope and a prayer that people can pull it together in time and CIC will have twice the initial screening to do.

what do you think????

My point is why give Mimu false hope.
Roy only wants money. Is he doing this out of charity? or he charges no money to help otherwise - like Mimu
