Subject: questions on applying PR for brother |
|
|
|
I want to sponsor my brother to obtain Canadian PR. I read on the cic website that, I quote below,:
/You can sponsor relatives or family members from abroad if they are:
your brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces or grandchildren who are orphans; under the age of 18 and not married or in a common-law relationship./
Does this mean that I can sponsor my brother only if my brother satisfies ANY ONE of the following criteria:
1. being an orphan, or
2. being under 18 years of age, or
3. not married, or
4. not in a common-law relationship.
Am I right about this cic statement? Also, what should I and my brother do in order to have my brother´s case processed inside Canada? Like everyone else, we just hope to get this done a little faster if possible. Thank you for your advice.

(in reply to: questions on applying PR for brother) You can not really sponsor your brother unless you meet the requirements of Overseas Processing Manual OP2 section 5.24
Your brother will receive 5 additional points for having you as a family member if he is applying as a SW, PNP or Business Applicant. If your brother is (IN) Canada the only possible application is a H&C application based on IP5 manuals.
