hi Sharon,
this is my first forum in this helpful site.please take a moment and kindly give me some advice...i will continue to contribute to this site in future.

i sent all papers to the Buffalo embassy by December2001.....so mine comes under old rules,not the new IRPA act.
AOR was MARCH 08,2002
did IELTS in Jan 2003,TEF in JUNE 2003.
and the medicals were done on JAN 22 rd ,2004 in berkeley
my PR interivew was on FEB 23rd,2004 in Los Angeles( where file was transferred) and was approved Successfully..
I HAD SENT ALL MY FBI,CALIFORNIA,native country clearances .ROLFlanding fee....all..JUST AFTER 15 DAYS OF MY PR INTERVIEW i..e i sent all of them by MARCH 15,2004......
sent for CAIPS ,due in a 1 week.
i am anxious because medicals expire JAN 22,2005 i.e only 2 months left.....AND I AM waiting for my PP request.
so what will happen to my case ? i am dreading if the Rasolzadeh class action suit will apply in my situation ?.
SHARON,plz tell me ,does my PR interview being approved in FEB 2004 mean that the SELECTION DECISION WAS MADE ? can i be at peace and not worry about this CLASS ACTION suit ?
WILL HAVE BEING TRANSFERRED TO LOS ANGELES FROM BUFFALO MAKE FOR MORE DELAY ??

In no way will this suit affect you. It was intended for those who thought they qualified under the old ruled but did not qualify under the new ones. You have met all CIC´s requirements. Your there! Congratulations

that so gladdening to hear from you that ,the suit wont apply to my situation. ok great...but one thing to bother still...
i sent 3 reminder faxes to the LA embassy enquiring about my STATUS in AUG,SEP and NOV 2004 but got no reply. wrote a personal handwritten letter to the CCG,LA again same...and i asked my friend who lives in LA ( i am in dallas) to go IN-PERSON to get update on my case..they accepted that my case was in "unusual delay" but may be "background checks" are going on..but my question is how long can checks GO ON ?
i lived straight in only 1 city in my native country((a very low-risk one )) for 25 years and came as skilled worker to USA on H1 visa and been here since 4 years.
so why this abnormal delay for PP request ? when 2 guys i know who attended PR interview on the same day as me in LA with the same Parameters (like single,engineer) and same backgrounds got their PP requests 3 months ago !!!!!
since my MEDICALS are valid only 60 days more i.e JAN 22,2005...WILL I GET PP REQUEST before THAT DATE ???...or in worst case scenario,will CIC automatically extend the VALIDITY of medicals for 3 months or so ??? or will I need to pay another $400 approx. to get new Medicals then ?

I really do not know about these crazy waits after approval. Why one application takes longer than another. There could be a million reasons. I would be reluctant to bother them too much... it just makes them go slower. Hold your breath and hang on. I am sure everything will be Ok. Hopefully others who are in a similar situation can offer you better insight.

I hate to tell you this, I almost share the same date lines with you, even everything was approved in 2001, they asked me to redo the medicals, and i am still on background check. so man just try to get your self busy with somthing else until it comes. (usually it comes when it is the least you need it or expect it)

i will try to give this off my mind..if you could tell this one last thing--
in worst case scenario,will CIC automatically extend the VALIDITY of medicals for 3 months or so ??? or will I need to pay another $400 to $500 approx. to get new Medicals then ? or they accept responsibility and give a GRACE period for medicals ?
