Subject: Sent passport by regular mail ! |

Hi,
I just sent my passport today (Seattle to Buffalo) for stamping, and even though I shouldn´t have been in a hurry for this - I was ! I did send everything they requested and the self - addressed return envelope with Express Mail service, but the lady at the post office sent the gray envelope with everything inside by First Class (regular) mail + certified service so I can track it. Somebody please reassure me that sending this by regular mail wasn´t a huge mistake ! I mailed it this morning, and when I check it online they still don´t have anything by this tracking number. Normal?!

(in reply to: Sent passport by regular mail !) you must send by registered mail than, don´t know about USPS.. Canada post takes about 1--2 days for internet tracking to updated.. before that, you can´t see anything online..
this is not fedex or UPS tracking system

(in reply to: Sent passport by regular mail !) USPS will update its system once its delivered. THey dont provide point to point detail like UPS or Fedex. I think you are fine it will just take 2 extra days for it to get there and thats about it.

(in reply to: Sent passport by regular mail !) Regular mail is no problem. The Canadian consulates returns everything by regular mail anyway. You´re especially safe since you sent "certified". Don´t worry, it´ll get there and everything will be fine.

(in reply to: Sent passport by regular mail !) It will be fine. I sent my passport with a certified mail to the Mideast and took one month to get there. I thought it was lost but it turned out eventually... Relax
