I hear that if you are on work permit you can land In Canada at nearest CIC office and get the whole thing done there. Is this really true? Please advice.

NO you have to enter at a POE unless you have been approved as a Convention Refugee or under Humanitarian and Compassionate grounds see regulation 11.

Hi
can someone help me with answer to my question.
I am in Canada with work permit until June 30.
I got married and my spoce is sponsoring me this week for application to be processed in Delhi, India. I understand that the Delhi office may call me for an interview or they may asked for my passport. I do not want to leave Canada until I get the permanent Visa for Canada.

Is there any way I can be exampted from sending my passport to Delhi or going myself for an interview?

Please advise

Hi Me,

This guy got it done that way,
http://www.immigration.ca/discussion/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=15596

And I´m pretty sure I read it in one of CIC´s documents, can´t find it back though.

Hopefully I´ll be able to find out myself if this really can be done in a couple of months.

Good luck with your landing

Javier
