Hi,
I am applying for a tourist visa to canada. I am currently on a worker´s (H1B) visa in the US. I have the following questions:
1. I would like to apply for multiple-entry visa. I do not have specifc dates, but would like to visit Canada. Do I still need to provide air tickets?
2. How long are the multiple-entry visas generally valid for?
3. If in the future i apply for Permanent Residence to Canada, can i still visit Canada on my tourist visa on the interim, while my application is in process?
any advice appreciated, thanks!

Visitor's Visa Questions (in reply to: Visitor's Visa Questions) 1. I would like to apply for multiple-entry visa. I do not have specifc dates, but would like to visit Canada. Do I still need to provide air tickets?
It depends on how you substantiate that it is for a certain duration that you wish to visit Canada for and this is linked to the purpose of your visit. Your reason for returning back should also be a strong one. If so the VO will not ask for the return ticket. I wasn´t asked and I know a lot of people who weren´t asked but at the same time you got to keep it in mind that there are chances of them asking and if you don´t have one when they do...could create a problem.
2. How long are the multiple-entry visas generally valid for?
There is no standard duration that these are issued for but mostly they are for a year. I´m not sure but I think it depends on how long you are elgible to stay in the US.
3. If in the future i apply for Permanent Residence to Canada, can i still visit Canada on my tourist visa on the interim, while my application is in process?
I dont know the answer for this and I need to know too!
good luck
Aditya
