Subject: Informing about birth of a child |

We´ve sent medicals back in May 06, but just have a newborn and are still waiting on the PPR. I´d like to inform CIC about it via fax, but am wondering what do we actually put in the letter. Is there a standard format of informing them?
Also need some help on the procedure (as of what docs we´d need to send) we need to get done for adding a newborn in our application?
Your prompt replies are greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!!

(in reply to: Informing about birth of a child) First, congratulations on making it this far, and on your new baby! You definitely need to inform CIC immediately. I´m not certain that there is a particular form to use, but I would send your baby´s birth certificate, SSN, and passport copies via registered mail so you can verify that it was received. Make certain to include a cover letter with your complete information and file number. Your baby will have to undergo medical tests as well, so you´ll want to get started as soon as possible so it doesn´t hold up the process too much (don´t have meds done until CIC tells you to!). Best of luck! :)

(in reply to: Informing about birth of a child) Thanks for your input..I´m gonna have around a month to get the birth cert and passport, however I´m thinking a heads up fax informing them would help... I´d hate to receive PPR and then attempting to have them include my child in our application....
Again thanks for the useful tips. I appreciate it.
