Subject: Wife's PR?
Hi, I am a Canadian citizen living in Japan. In the future, I was hoping that my son could live in Canada for a while with my Japanese wife, I was however wondering if after acompanying my family and getting them set up in Canada, if I couldn´t continue living in Japan. I really can´t support my family well on a job I could get in Canada, and so sending money from Japan while they live in Canada looks the most ideal option.

So after my wife gets her PR card, would it be alright were I to go back to Japan, or would she have to give up her status were I not actually with her in Canada?

if you intend to sponsor your wife so she can become a resident, you must show that you will be moving back to Canada. how you do that will be critical to them obtaining residency.

Lots of people do as you are suggesting (even though it is not particularly liked by resident Canadians but at the moment you are within the rules)
