Subject: Help?! Anyone know what to do?...
Hello I am an American trying to marry a Canadian. We have known eachother for almost 12 years but in a relationship for 2 years. We have Several concerns... I hope someone would help us... We have sought information from a lawyer in Edmonton.

1- I have a heart disease which is NOT terminal but serious, CP (very mild), and am hard of hearing with the help of a Cochlear Implant. I just had my 6th open heart surgery a few months ago. Will this be a factor in trying to get accepted into Canada? Specifically what kind of examination does the doctor do or look for? The lawyer used the term "Medical provisions are deterrent", what does that means? I keep trying to re-read the dictionary over and over but no luck in figuring it out. Anyone help me out with this please?

2- We are missing alot of documents that we need to proof that we have been visiting eachother both in the US and Canada such as Airline tickets/ boarding passes, hotels, car rentals and such. Is there a way I can get info on those back? We never thought we would have to keep them.

Thank you!

You are highly likely medically inadmissable but all is not lost. You´re American and might have US based medical insurance. Live in Canada as a long term visitor and have Insurance if an emergency erupts that it will pay to get you transfeered to a US hospital.

This is no different then the thousans of Canadian´s that live in Florida or Arizona eight months a year.

The other option is to go to a DMP and he/she will tell you that you did not pass the medical and you will be a 100% sure of what to do.

Lawyers who mislead their clients is wrong and you should have enough common sense not to pay him/her.
