| Subject: Change of Adress --- Just Filed Documents ?? |

Hi,
I have send all documents for Canadian Immigration 10 days back and was still waiting for some kind of file numbr or reply from Canadian immigration office in Buffalo.
But due to some personal problem i had to move to a new place.
Now my question is, as i dont have any file number, how can i inform Candian immigration about my adress change.
Should i use my passport number for refrence?
Will appreciate your suggestions on this.

Jeet,
Don´t worry about it yet. Wait for the file number and then inform CIC of the new address. I know some friends who informed them up to 5 months after they moved.
If you are in the US, make sure you get your mail fotrwarded to the new address so that you can receive the file number and other communication from CIC.

I have already done address forwarding service and yeh i am in USA.
I have read on this forum that sometimes file number can take upto 3-4 months and address forwarding service is valid only for one month.
So i am afraid that if don´t inform canadian immigration about my new USA address, my file number might get lost.
Please advice.

I had similar situation and USPS can forward your stuff for 1 year.. so I believe if you talk with USPS you are good to go..

Thanks a lot for your reply.
I checked with USPS and they will forward all my mails for period of 12 months.
