I have followed the questions and answers here for quite sometime. You give good sound advise, and are very knowledgeable and appreciated.I have a couple of questions for you, if you will.
I am American and my husband is Canadian. We have filed an outside application with him as my sponsor(Haven´t mailed it yet). We have not been married for very long.(few months), but we have spent as much time as possible together, either in the states or in Canada. We have a 13 month old son together, as well as a 14 year old son from my previous marriage.
My first question is this. When I divorced my first husband, it was an uncontested divorce that only mentioned that there was a child born to us. There was no mention of custody or support or anything like that as we always agreed that he would stay with me as he always has.Can you tell me what type of document I will need to bring my son to Canada with me? His father is okay with him immigrating with me, I just need to make sure that I have the correct paperwork that CIC is looking for.
Sorry this is so long.
My second question is this: Can you tell me what kind of proof they are looking for about our marriage being genuine? We didn´t have a big fancy wedding, we are both in our mid 40s and it just seemed unnessesary for us to go in debt just to get married. Although we do have some pics from wedding ceremony. What else could we send? We had a child together who is Canadian and American. Should we send info to that effect as well? Just want to make sure I cover everything before I send it all in. If I seem a bit nervous, I am. I miss my husband very much and I don´t want any delays in my case if I can help it.

A letter but preferrably an affidavit from the first biological father stating he is not opposed to allowing your 14 year old to Immigrate
Question 2
CIC does not care about wedding photos they are staged photos and easy to make. What they are looking for is relationship type photos and since you have a 13 month old there should be first birthday party photos. Times when the two of you don´t look your best but you´re both happy and relaxed. Laying around the house, reading a book, TV etc. (normal stuff) that shows the two of you are happpy and comfortable with each other.
If the two of you have any Canadian friends have them write a one page letter how they met you and how happy (your husband) is now that your in his life and have them attach proof of their status and a drivers license to it. They should mention something that they find personal about the two of you.
Any photos of you being infront of any Canadian landmark that most persons would know stuff like that.
