2 years ago I got married and baptized my first new baby without my mother´s presence.We are five sisters with our own family and kids here in vancouver and we tried to invite our mother to visit and attend the said occassion, unfortunately canadian embassy in philippines didn´t permit her because they were judging us that my mother won´t go back to philippines anymore for infact she doesn´t have anymore dependants in philippines.Everybody in our family was very much depressed with the decision of the philippine canadian embassy.My father passed away without any chance visiting canada where his five girls grow and live with their own families and kids.However, this time I tried to sponsor my mother and I received a letter from the case processing center telling me about meeting the target of economic immigrants.I know my mother would have longer processing time but when is that time? Can my mother have the chance to see her children and grandchildren here in Vancouver Beautiful British Columbia? Or can I invite her again although she was denied before for tourist visa while waiting for her application to process. Thank you and I hope somebody could response me.

Why don´t you sponsor your mother instead. If you or one of the sisters have sufficient income you can sponsor your mother to move to Canada. That way she can obtain Canadin Citizenship and have dual Citizenship. She can continue to live here and there.

Hi Jason! Thanks for responding. Actually I already sponsored my mother,however I don´t know if immigration has started working on it since I had received a letter from them dated july 08,2004 stating that they received my application for sponsoring our mother and telling about the balance immigration program that is based on three concepts: immigrants who can contribute to our economy, reunification of families,and refugees and those in need of protection.Given the importance of meeting their target of economic immigrants, I was informed that sponsoring parents will experienced a longer processing time. And when is that time? I don´t have any idea? I felt anxious and sometimes depressed that our mother won´t able to see Vancouver Beautiful British Columbia.While waiting for the processing of the application can I invite my mother as a visitor? Although she had been denied before?
