Hi again.

Does anybody have an idea/estimate of how much the fees would be for the medical exams in the US?

thanks again

Ours were about $335 for adults, and around $125 for kids. I understand they vary, so it pays to shop around if you have choices in your area. Congratulations on your IA!

Thank you for the quick reply, Richard.! As for the different doctors, it just happens to be that right now my family is spread around the world due to work and school, and it´ll be so hard and expensive to get everybody to the same doctor ASAP.

Anybody done that (different doctors) and had problems with it?

I understand, emb. In that case, I´d email the consulate processing your application, explain the need to see different doctors, and ask of this is ok. They´ll probably agree. This way it won´t appear you´r violating their directions and you´ll know you´re proceeding correctly.

Maybe someone else has done this and they can comment.

I think you can see different doctors. But you must make sure that those doctors are included in the list of Designated Medical Practitioners. I did mine in US and my wife in Europe.
As to medical fee it is different in US. For example in NY you can do it for 125$ (Doctor originally from China)but in some places for 300$ or even more. There is no difference in quality I must say. You may call and chek prize!
I hope this helps.
Best

1.) Is it okay to have my medical taken in asia, even if i filed my visa application in buffalo new york?

(im thinking of getting it done here there is a list of accredited doctors here too)

2.) after submitting everything? how many more months before they request for my passport?

i believe if they need to do any further medical checks e.g. if they find something and want to check it out, you must go to the same doctor who did the original medical exam...so if i were you i wouldnt go too far for the meds

We had our medicals done last friday in LA. The adults cost $215 and Kids $75, if you pay cash. I recommend Dr. Gitlin. His secretary, Sandy is very helpful and accomodating. Even his assistant Lisa. Don´t forget to have extra cash for xray.
