Subject: True story about Canadian Immigrant
  I do have a happy story and I was just telling this to a friend of my today and I will gladly write it here for others to enjoy. I was going to post it as a response to a question posted below but I have decided to make it a separate topic.

=====================
This is a TRUE STORY.
=====================

A man who I met few months back, very poor and really nice guy. He arrived to Canada as a visitor to visit his uncle and perhaps earn few dollars for his poor family in his homecountry where he left his wife and three children behind. (He didn´t LEAVE them, rather they stayed as they couldn´t have afford more than one ticket.)
So, someone suggested for him to apply for a refugee status and that way stay in Canada. I don´t know on what basis and how this part works, but that is beside the point in this context. So he did apply and Canadian Immigration took him for hearing. In the mean time he obtained SIN, health card, driving licence and was allowed to work.

So he started working and kept sending some money to his family. Finally he had a hearing after a year or so and Canada has rejected his case and told him that he must leave Canada within a period of time. Nothing much he could have done and agreed with the decission. In the mean time he saved some money and got his stuff together. Bought a ticket, took his suitcase and drove to airport. He went to Immigration station to get checked out so everything is clear. They asked him few questions whether he liked it here or not, how was his stay in Canada, did he have any problems with others, any problems working here, any problems finding a job and so on. More like a survey. With his poor knowledge of English he answered as best as he could. Now final question was "Would you like to stay here?", immigration officer asked. He replied that he wanted to stay and started to explain that he applied already but without luck. Immigration officer told him: "Well, you seem to be a nice person, you have been paying taxes, you had no problems with the law and we are offering you now to stay in Canada, would you like to stay. Poor guy didn´t even understand the question properly so he asked for a question to be repeated. Well, I am sure you can guess the end of the story. He works and lives in Canda now and he is sponsoring his family to join him here.

If I´m the Director of OSCAR, I would give the movie the best OSCAR award in history. Very nice story but not convinving to happen again ever. I wish it could happen to me and find a visa officer calling my mobile phone and telling me u r welcomed in CANADA and then I´ll answer him no I don´t to come.
People have been waiting for 4 years here and suddenly a story like this will let them go crazy.

Nice story....there´s a tear in my right eye.
But what probably happened is that the guy´s english was so poor he didn´t understand one thing what the officer was talking about.Maybe what the officer told him was more like : " If I see you scumbag here again I´ll kick your *ss in jail "
