Hi
I applied for parent sponsorship 5 months ago, but i didnt get any acknowlegement letter yet. Can any body help. I applied trough a representative. Every time I ask him he says u will get soon. Its too late now!

Here I go again and again. I feel so sorry for some posters on this site for getting the wrong information.
I really feel sorry for people who do not ask enough questions or try to get something for very little or like so many representatives accept payment for something that will not take under five years to complete.
There was an authorized representative advertising in a transit paper (METRO) for spousal sponsorships $499.00 and parental sponsorships for $399.00 when I charge far more.
I called him and asked what was he doing and why so low price. He said all he was doing was filling in a few forms so why charge more. I asked him why he does not provide a full package to the clients and he said he works on volume and to get them in the door he ccharges those fees and when they come back each time he charges them more for what I never asked. He made me sick but what he was doing was legal sort of.
Habib if you would of looked at the CIC web site you would of seen that Mississauga CPC does not approve you as a sponsor until 28 months have passed. Then they send the file to your parents Visa Post and your probably looking at four or five more years even though CIC web site says their faster. Go to www.sponsoryourparents.ca and click on your parents visa post that site has processing times from previous clients. Real cases.
I will not take any client who wishes to sponsor their parents outside of Canada. I only take clients who have their parents already in Canada and who wish to sponsor them as a H&C case and the difference is I WIN! Oh yeah and I charge a lot more because of IP5 section 5.26
THE FIRST LETTER YOU WILL GET FROM CIC WILL SAY ON THE SECOND PAGE YOU [MAY] BE ENTITLED TO A REFUND DUE TO PROCESSING TIMES.

Habib,
I have received an aknowledgment letter in approx 3 mth after I sent it out. But that was in 2004, I am not sure if now it takes longer. But my advice to you - keep your receipt from post office and your copy of payment for processing. Because CIC call centre can´t really see anything in the computers until Missisauga will actually start processing your aplication, which will happen 28 mth later. So if your application is lost and they never received it, then when 28 mth will pass and you will know that for sure you will be able to prove that you sent it in 2006 and they will reestablish your place in waiting line.
