My friend?s family applied in the skilled worker category from US about 2 years ago and were called for an interview. At the interview they wanted to confirm the principal applicant was still at the same job which he was and they immediately approved him and his spouse and his one daughter(23). They are not willing to approve his other daughter who is now 24. The reason they are saying is she has to continue with being a student after her graduation last year which my friend knew and made sure she continued studying full time time.( She has all the necessary certs and letters confirming this) Now they have a objection that since she did not do Masters but did courses which were though related to her field are not recognized by canadian immigration.Obviously she was waiting for Canada to happen and then do this in Canada rather than leave it halfway and also if one is going to be settling in Canada she rather have a canadian degree. After all her credential should not matter as she is a dependent and not principal ( in reality waiting for the immigration to happen she has now more qualifications than the principal applicant)

Now the question is they applied for four of them and one of them get a refusal can they break a family unit like that? Is there some way where the poor family can appeal?? After all Canada wants qualified people and she is qualified then why refuse?

Thank you for reading thru this long story and would appreciate some help, comments and advise.

I hate to answer this way but the manuals are here. http://www.cic.gc.ca/manuals-guides/english/op/index.html

Look in OP1 section 5.24 and 7.5 and all of OP6

A possible problem that you may have touched on but not clarified is what happened to others on this message boards months ago. They studied at a place that was not recognized by the countries Ministry of Education and all it was basically was a business and therefore was not considered continueing education or the minimum 15 hours full time study.

To offer a solution which might be possible it would have been nice to know the nationallity of the 24 year old friend of yours.

There are other options but I never recommend appeal unless there is a reasonable chance of sucess and I or others do not have sufficent information in your post to advise properly.

My business is mainly InLand Immigration which solves problems for people who are already PR by appealing situations or helping on InLand Marriages for out of status persons etc.

Many people come to Canada and make a refugee claim because they think they can win and some from non refugee producing countries then Legal Counsel convinces them to file an appeal which is only an application for leave to appeal with virtually no chance of success.

I think your emotions may be clouding the facts in this post. Get some more detail.
