We are also considering applying for immigration under the skilled worker category. My husband is in the US currently completing his phD. Any idea about which office to choose for correspondence and how much time it generally takes for the process to complete? As it is, seems like my PR will expire and I wont be able to complete my 2 year stay within the time frame.

thankyou all

if you are legally inside the US and will be that way for the next year... you apply through Buffalo. There are no options.

I am reading 19-39 months to process based on last years statistics.

I would count on 2 years for the whole thing. It might take less, but not much less.

It took 14 months for me. Buffalo is fast right now, after IA. Good luck!

Thankyou so much all. This will really help me big time. I have been in the states from 2000 onwards. Do I still need to get police clearance from my native country? I have had mixed answers with some claiming that I do need it while others stating that US clearance is enough.

Suggestions?

I´m not certain but in my stuff they asked for clearance from all countries that I lived in. (I´m in USA) Your instructions regarding clearance and fingerprints should state the requirements. Good Luck.
