AOR August 9th, 2005, Buffalo, NY, still waiting.
I am sending them a letter today to inquire about what´s up. Not a rude one, just a normal correspondence. I think after paying $500 I am entitled to know where my case is. Advising everyone to do the same. They are used to all the scared folks that just sit peacefully and patiently wait for 1000 years. Like this application is free of charge! Maybe if they get a few letters then they realize that behind the stack of papers there are real people and real families. The "do NOT write!" crap is just plainly foolish. Of course they don´t want the volume of correspondence, but .... well....how about doing their job and reviewing the apps that are, surprise surprise, paid for!!!

Hey, do you know wannabec already has her visa-think she had a timeline similar to yours. Better write to them to find out what is going on.Visit roadtocanada.com.

Cool25,

I understand why you are upset, it is not easy to wait for such a long time. It seems like eternity, doesn´t it?!? We are all in the same boat. I am not one of the "scared folks", but I do sit peacefully and wait my turn. I believe the "do NOT write! crap" is only meant to keep the immigration officers´ attention on what they are supposed to do rather then to respond to letters. Maybe you are lucky enough to get an update on your case, maybe not. Have you tried e-CAS? CAIPS notes? I assume you haven´t received your IA, have you?

Hang in there, you are not alone Cool25!!! ..but if you do opt to write a letter to CIC, choose your words wisely, don´t pi$$ anyone off :) To an immigration officer it is far simpler to move your application to the end of the pile than to respond to your inquiry.. As an analogy, think of the cook who spits on your steak if you tell the waiter to return it to the kitchen because it wasn´t cooked well enough. (Can´t happen to me, I don´t eat steak!) :)

I wish you the best of luck! I hope your turn comes really soon!

Great idea! Of course, they could react in a different way by extending the wait time because of the additional correspondance they are receiving. And since you are not a Canadian citizen, immigration is not a right, but a priviledge.

Perhaps you should contact the minister in charge of immigration and bug him or her. That might be a more effective solution for a letter campaign.

Hey Cool25: Yep, we did have almost the exact same timeline; I´m sorry to hear about your delay. I do think you should try to contact someone; applicants often get responses even though it´s against "the rules". Best of luck to you! :)
