Subject: live in canada work in uk
Would it be possible for my family and I to live in Canada while I commuted to uk to work. Although my wife would not need to work, my children would need to attend school.Would be grateful for any info on wether this is possible and if so how to go about it.

You still need a visa. The only way you can come is if you get residency and claim you want to work here and then when you have it, to go back to the UK - but then, you (and all your family members) have to be in Canada 2 years out of every 5. So your answer really is no, it´s not possible. Why should your wife and kids benefit from e.g. Canada´s healthcare and schools if you´re not going to pay anything into it? That´s why the system is in place!

This is very possible depending on the way you do it.

What I think your referring to is a way to get around the residency requirements. If you a PR you can start a company in Canada and go abroad and work full time for a Canadian company (yourself) and depending on some details you can stay out as long as you like.

See IRPA section 28 (2) (iii) plus you need to read the regulations and manuals which state you must pay taxes on money earned while working outside of Canada and some minor details on what is a Canadian company.
