Subject: Immigration from India
  Hi,

I am intersted in immigrating to Canada from India.
I have a good profile both in terms of education and professional background.

I will appreciate any help on the following questions:
1) How can I map my profile to the point system used by Canada Immigration authority?

2) What are the exact steps I need to take care of while immigrating to Canada?

3) Is it necessary to apply for the citizenship via an intermidiary agency or can I do it directly?

4) Contact information and addresses to complete the task

Looking forward to your replies.

Regards.

Rahul:

Perphaps the biggest hurdle is not qualifying but the financial and time commitment to the process. Make sure you can put in both before you apply (about 1500-2000 C$ and 2-3 years at the least). You may also need to show about C$10000 in your bank account or assets to bring in with you to canada.

Point system is straightforward - either you qualify or not.

No - it is not necessary to apply through a 3 party; however it does make life easy and process a bit faster (only that they make sure you are not back and forth submitting docs or may even procure an interview waiver; which in your case is not likely as you are from India).

Anyways; best of luck on your journey.

Hi Rahul,

As suggested above visit the official Canadian Immigration website www.cic.gc.ca. They have provided guides for applicants. You should read the guide for Federal Skilled Worker available at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/applications/skilled.html

1) How can I map my profile to the point system used by Canada Immigration authority?
Everything is given in the guide

2) What are the exact steps I need to take care of while immigrating to Canada?
Read the guide

3) Is it necessary to apply for the citizenship via an intermidiary agency or can I do it directly?
The immigration process is very simple so I suggest that you apply on your own. If you want to hire a representative or lawyer for your case please check the website www.cic.gc.ca to find out who can represent you. But it is not required to hire anyone.

1) No one can help you "procure an interview waiver".

2)"...in your case is not likely as you are from India"

Getting an interview waiver does not depend upon your nationality or the country of residence.
