| Subject: Lonsdale Vancouver? |
Hi there, does anyone out there know anything about this area? I have been looking on the net for apartments to rent in this area. If anyone can help i wouyld be very grateful.

Lonsdale is in an area called North Vancouver. It can be a nice community - BUT you must be aware of its physical relationship to downtown Vancouver and the rest of the city. It is separated from the rest of Vancouver by water.
If you are able to find employment on the ´north shore´ your transporation issues will be reasonably simply. If you work in the immediate downtown core there is a ´seabus´ at the foot of Lonsdale that will take you across the inlet- it is frequent and very popular. (read... people do it all the time).
however, you need to factor at least 30 minutes commuting to anywhere outside the area for work. If you can´t take that seabus, you would be living with your choice of 2 congested bridges that most people swear at each morning and evening. Don´t be mistaken... people do it all the time but you asked for information!
(in case you care... there is a significant, well established Iranian community in North Vancouver)
