If you are not a PR yet, read your work permit. It says:

Does not authorize to re-enter Canada.

You do the math.

Thank you. (in reply to: Coming back to Canada with Travel document???)
yeah, you are right on the work permit it is written does not authorize to re-enter Canada. So a conventional refugee with travel document issued here in Canada by the passport office on the conventional refugee basis is not elligible to leave Canada and re-enter??
On the travel document they send me these days on the first page it says you can go any country except an X country. And at the back it says you have to show your permanent residence status in Canada to re-enter Canada. It is confusing.Pls help me,I really need to go and come back in these coming months.

You should contact CIC, you may travel outside of Canada with that document (it replaces your Passport ) but as far as I know only Canadian citizen and PR´s have the RIGHT to re-enter Canada.

Anyone else seeking entry into Canada has to be inspected and approved entry by the Canadian authorities of Customs and Immigration.
