Subject: What is a "selection decision"?
Does it mean that if you receive a letter from embassy advising that you may no longer be required to appear for interview, undergo medical examination, submit updated documents and pay RPRF within a period, are indication that you are now in a "positive selection decision" status?

I applied in 2001 and got the letter on June 2004. RPRF was paid last July and my medical exam results were sent in last Aug 8. The last document asked for (one of the three PCCs) was already submited to the embassy last Monday.

This means that your application has been initially approved on IA(initial assessment) and that background checks will be conducted. Subject to medical and security clearances you should be all set. I do not know where you live, but U.S. is usually 5-6 months wiaitng period beyond your medical tests.
You are getting closer.

if they have no further questions that require clarification from the recent documents you have sent, and everything is in order... you will be receiving a passport request soon. You are 10 yards from the finish line.
