| Subject: Anyone know current Buffalo processing time |
My file has been under process sinc May 2004... Every time I sent a request to check on status I get a reply saying the file is still being processed.. its almost like 30 months now... How long do I have to wait ???
Any ideas or suggestion are greatly appreciated.

You did not mention where you have filed your application and under which category (family-based, skilled worker, ...)

As you can see by looking at the bottom of that page, processing may stretch up to 39 months for Buffalo Fed. Skilled Worker applicants. Try to maintain your patience and sanity.

Thanks a lot for your prompt reply...
I increasing find it difficult to maintain my patience and sanity.. when I applied the processing time was roughly about 18 months... I don´t know what changed number of applicant or strength of staff at processing center... whatever may be the reason ... I has effected my life drastically everthing has come to almost a complete halt..so many future plans depend on this decision.. Looks like everybody around me gets what they want... I am the only one that is being neglected... its just sad and getting worst...

I did not wait as long as you did so far, but I am still waiting and we are exactly in the same boat.. I know EXACTLY how you feel, I hope you trust me when I say that. Hang in there, you´re definitely not alone!

posted processing times are historic. If there is an exodus out of the US for any number of reasons... the applications pile up. If there are people in Canada that are under work permits... they also go through Buffalo and get first priority.
Just like every other source country - there is a quota for US applications. They control that number through staffing. No point in having enless staff only working half the year - so they process all year and at December 31, they have either reached their limit, or in the case of last year exceeded their limit and put people´s PP request into the next fiscal year.
The uncertainty of waiting times is a challenge for all applicants. In Canada there is a huge outcry to change the system. The alternatives won´t likely increase the quotas or staff levels... instead there may be a annual application limit - nobody knows as yet.
At this point you are in line and eventually your name gets to the top. Hopefully, it will go quick.

I have a question is there a way to get my file switched to another processing cente... if yes ? do you think it would help in processing quickly ?

you must be a national or reside in the country for a full year. No such thing as picking a processing center based on wait times.

I´m in the same boat. My application is in process since Mar/04. I emailed them once a month and get the same response that my file is being processed. According to my CAIPS, CIC will reopen my file on Jan 23, 2007. My file was opened in Feb/05, July/05, Dec/05 and July/06 but nothing changes according to CAIPS. They just put a new date on it. I didn´t recieve medical request or any thing so far. Still waiting...Don´t know what will happen...

I am really confused myself. We both are in a very similar position... what worries me more is the fact that I know a few people with same qualification as me, they applied 6 months after me and they already have PR cards with them...
I haven´t received medical too. Losing my patience day by day.
The good part is now I know, I am not alone?
