Hi,
In the Checklist for the PR for Canada, its asked to submit a notarized letter that if spouse is not accompanying. I wanted to know what sort of letter is this. And does this mean my spouse can not be added later to my application.
I cant apply for my spouse right now as his papers are not complete and I wish to submit my application till then.
Secondly, fees is given is Canadian Dollars of 550$. So when I get the check for this amount from my bank in US, should I ask them to apply the conversion rate and make check accordingly for the amount equivalent to 550 CND?
Pls. advice on the above points.
Thanks a ton in advance.
Sam

(in reply to: Non accompanying spouse) no, you are required to supply the right amount in Canadian currency.
Your questions about your wife is a little confusing. If you intend to have your wife accompany you to Canada - she needs to be included in your application.

(in reply to: Non accompanying spouse) Sam,
This is to clarify just the fee aspect of your question:
I live in the US and I submitted my PR application to Buffalo, NY. I have paid all my fees in US Dollars. You can pay your fees in either currency. Here are the links for both currencies:
Canadian Dollars:

US Dollars:

Good Luck!

(in reply to: Non accompanying spouse) true... Buffalo does allow you to submit in US funds but they set the amount rather than working on a fluctuating bank rate.
sorry for my confusion

(in reply to: Non accompanying spouse) Thankyou so much, for taking time to reply my queries.
But my question about my spouse still remains unanswered. I would submit the application for her, but it may take 2-3 months from now. Till then I wish to go ahead submitting mine and then later adding hers to mine, so that we can be interviewedtogeather.
But in filling forms I see that I need to declare a notarized statement that my wife will not accompany me to canada. For this I wanted to know what sort of letter is this? is it that I just need to declare this on a paper and submit?
Does this means my wife´s application cant be added to mine later for interview.
Pls. clarify this.
Thankyou.

(in reply to: Non accompanying spouse) from the way I understand it - someone can correct me please...you have a choice... notarize a statement that your wife will never be joining you or stall your application until you have all your family documents together.
