Subject: interview letter = IA? I need help!
I applied June05 to buffalo, got AOR june05, IELTS requested & submitted August 05. June 06 got letter telling that our paperworks was transferred to LA. Nov 06 got interview letter, scheduled for interview on Jan 10 2007. is it considered the IA letter, because the letter told that both my spouse and I have to show all the original documents, show the unencumbered amount of bank statement/financial doc, and original passport that still valid for at least 1 year. is it a good sign or bad sign? I´m not sure they´re going to make a decision right away, we haven´t done our medical yet.

fyi, we´re 5 people in the family, I have 3 school aged kids who don´t have to be present during the interview. (have no idea whether or not they´re allowed to come along to the CIC). my first daughter is an honor student who received a 99% score nationally every single year. can I just tell them the fact about her bright education future and will it make a better score for our application?

what make me concern is, why did they say that our passport need to be valid at least 1 year from the interview day?

for how long do we need to wait until they make a final decision. we´re gonna land right away after getting approved. our visa in USA is almost expired by summer next year.

thanks for your kindly help.

they did not send a medical form. that´s why I´m a bit confused. it means I might have to renew my passport sometime next year if the processing is going to be delayed because of medical & stuff. thanks DB. how about your case? I´ve been reading this forum since the day I applied CIC. you still live in BC? good luck for you man!

Well, that´s very good. I got a letter last january saying that we needed to attend an interview and we haven´t heard back from them since. So this whole year has gone to waste. So with that letter you just saved at least one or one and a half year!

Your passports need to be valid at least 1 because you have one year from date of medical exam to land in Canada, that´s all that means. If your´s is going to expire before a Febuary 2008 (assuming you would have done medicals by Feb 2007), then please get it renewed before your interview .

The site I posted above is extremeely helpful for interview prep and ideas. Take time and read others notes.... You should be fine.

Also, Frankie

Don´t worry about medical forms for now. LA doesn´t send medical forms before interview any more. Once your interview is done on Jan 10th, and is successful, they will hand you medical forms on the same day!
