We have Canadian Pr and live in Detroit. My husband works in H1(extension). He recently changed company(H1 has changed). Our previous visa is still valid. Can we go to Canada and come back to the USA with this visa stamping? Or do we have to get the new visa stamping(the current company he works for)? to re-enter USA, if we were to go to Canada.

You can travel with the old visa stamped on your passport but take the H1 approval notices with you.I already did travel last month with the same senerio.

As far as I KNOW, you cannot leave US with H1. You have to ask a lawyer.

Please advice people if you are really know about the rules .I am giving you first hand information i had the same issue and i travelled to canada and back to US with my old companies visa and for your information visa is a travel document ,if you have a new companies approved H1B and visa is valid (old comapny) you can travel anywhere.
