Hi,
I am a British Citizen married to a Canadian Citizen for 6 years, during the past 6 years we have been living in the US as Green Card holders. My wife has a job offer in Canada, my question is can i enter Canada as a visitor and tell them that i have dual attention to apply for PR as family class whilst living with my wife in Canada. I understand that i will not be able to work or study whilst the application is in process. Any advice on the matter would be appreciated.

NO, no way, not a chance, don´t do it, stop think again.
Someone entering for a tempory period of time is a visitor, student or coming on a work permit based on a contractual period of time.
Someone entering for a permanet period of time is a PR.
If your CDN partner has paid taxes has an offer of employment, they can sponsor you outside of Canada NOW and by the time this employment is to begin you should be approved. The CDN partner just has to state when he/she is planning to return to Canada and must arrive the same day or in advance of you.

I have recieved different answers from two different Immigration lawyers regarding this matter. Anyone else who has knowledge on the situation please advice.

Hi
If you have a british passport you can enter Canada without any visa or permit but you are only allowed to stay 6 months at a time. But once you are in you can then apply for PR by being sponsored by your wife, you can also apply for a work permit at the same time at that will be granted to you once your wife has been initially approved as a sponsor ( that usually takes around 9 months) Thats the way me and my partner did it.
