Subject: Our Minister of Immigration is NOT respecting.....
  Hi folks,

This is the proof our Minister of Immigration, the Honorable Judy Sgro, is doing discrimination by denying the entry of good folks in Canada - whatever if they have a very old criminal past or not, okay "officer border agent" Sharon? - and she is not respecting herself the laws of Immigration.

This article below inspired me to write a good letter to the Prime Minister, Paul Martin and the Minister of Canada, Jean Charest.

Message to the braves and folks who have guts here: please send a little reply to me right here to say you will send a email to Jean Charest and Paul Martin:) because I can say to a t.v. reporter of a good Canadian channel to take a look right here...see? And get his attention in a more deeper level...see?

Also, please know Canadians if we are enough to inound the maiboxes of Jean Charest and Paul Martin, we will get the attention of medias particularly because the Minister of Immigration is in a very uncomfortable situation right now and then, can see more quicker than we think our loved ones in Canada...Let your creative talents go....begin to write: "Stripper preferred to __________"

Please say after me: "The game is over".

Stripper Sgro aided calls her ´a good, kind woman´

Last Updated Thu, 25 Nov 2004 13:14:08 EST TORONTO - The young Romanian woman at the centre of the "Strippergate" affair has spoken out publicly, calling Immigration Minister Judy Sgro "a good, kind woman" for granting her a temporary resident´s permit. Sgro´s political opponents say exotic dancer Alina Balaican, 25, earned the favour by volunteering on the minister´s re-election campaign in her Toronto-area riding leading up to the June 28 election.

FROM JAN. 1, 2004: Immigration minister under fire for ´Strippergate´

Their charges that the minister gave preferential treatment to a campaign worker are now under investigation by ethics commissioner Bernard Shapiro.

"It is my understanding that if no one stepped in to rectify my situation, then I would have been sent back to Romania and separated from my husband ... for a period of up to two years," said a letter sent to several media outlets Tuesday that was signed by Balaican and her husband.

In the letter, Balaican said:

She and her husband, Howard Mulholland, went to Sgro´s office looking for help after an "incompetent" immigrant consultant made mistakes that left her temporary work permit about to expire.
Neither she nor her husband ever spoke to the minister directly.
The office staff made no promises but said her case would be reviewed "on its merits."
They volunteered to help out on the campaign after that visit because they liked "the energy and the people" at Sgro´s office. "At no time did anyone ask us to work on Mrs. Sgro´s campaign," they said.

Heated exchange in Parliament

The Conservatives continued to hammer away at the matter in the House of Commons Wednesday.

"There are 679,000 applications waiting to be processed... but a stripper with an expired visa working in the minister´s campaign office is allowed to jump the queue," said MP Peter MacKay.

"Is her chief of staff still working for her, and when is she going to resign?"

Sgro repeated what she has said on previous occasions, saying she would wait for the ethics commissioner´s report.

She also said the House of Commons had no business throwing around the names of specific officials in her office until that report was completed.

Emotions boiled over when another Conservative MP, Rahim Jaffer, said one of the minister´s staff members may have granted landed immigrant status to eight other women and called upon Sgro to resign.

"Mr. Speaker, I don´t take any lessons from that sanctimonious parliamentarian over there, that´s a disgrace in this Parliament, okay?" Sgro said, referring to Jaffer. "If you´ve got any proof of those allegations, put them on the table now or shut up and sit down."

The Conservatives immediately asked the Speaker to consider whether Sgro´s language was unparliamentary.

We need to fight together (in reply to: Our Minister of Immigration is NOT respecting.....)
Hi folks,

If we are enough to resist here, I would have another good suggestion to change our situation...it is legal and civil...we need to fight together...

Say right after me after reading the article I published above: "The game is over".

I am starving to not have the most nice person I met on this earth with me....and you? Are you starving to not see your loved ones for stupid reasons? i.e. because he/she is poor?

Totallyforhim, could you please stop polluting our forum with your nonsensical posts? Obviously, where there is smoke, there is fire. You´re not providing a clear rendition of the true story so don´t be expecting a lot of sympathy from me.

by the way... no such thing as Minister of Canada. Jean Charest is the Premier of Quebec. Same status as a Govenor.

I don´t care where you put the accent...you are giving Jean Charest a title that does not exist. Besides, what does a premier have to do with federal immigration policy and why are you quoting news articles that are 10 months old?

Not trying to tell you what to do... just suggesting you take the multitude of advice that you have already been given. Complaining, pointing fingers at others, and insulting those who try to help you will not get your man across the border.

keep faith. CIC is doing all that is under the limits of law. What you are trying to do is push it. I mean if you are so desprate-why don´t you fly to the US??

TotallyForHim:

If all Canadian spouses who see themselves separated from their partner had a little bit of you in their guts, then the policymaking process would offer a spark of hope for changing the current system. I think the spouse class is quite unique due to the sentimental ties. At the heart of immigration policy is family reunification; therefore, this cases should be dealt with in a completely different manner by making the process more expeditous.

Unfortunately, most Canadians, including my wife, prefer the "wait-and-let-things-happens" way. Unless there is a sign that the process is not totally correct, the policymakers in Ottawa will continue with the same immigration policy. If I were Canadian, I would be fighting a huge battle. Unfortunately, I´m just a PR applicant, with no privilege to put one foot in Canadian soil.
