| Subject: RCMP Clearance |

Hi,
I just did medical test for immigration as a skilled worker. I am in Canada on work permit. I have applied at Buffalo VIsa Office. Do I need a RCMP clearance? I m here for nearly 2 years. Should I wait till they ask me to go for it? Or should I go to RCMP on my own to get it done for me?

i am same status as you..work permit..
I mean nobody actually requests from us, I guess we do not need it.....on the manual it actually indicates that do not request RCMP clearance until they request you to do so

Go to any fingerprinting company IFS commissionaires etc and send your prints off to the RCMP it can take six months to get a result

Roy, why on the website, Buffalo asked us to wait until instruct to do so.

Thanks, departure bay and roy. I have read what you are saying departure bay and also I have heard it takes 6 months, roy. I am waiting for some clue: if I need it or not. If I wait for them to ask me to go for it and they do, then I am going to lose 6 months + wait times. If I go for a finger print check on my own, I may save the wait times, but this is against their instructions.
Can anybody shed more light on this?

POLICE CERTIFICATE (in reply to: RCMP Clearance)

With reference to the above I have submitted my fingure prints from Malaysia as I was in Canada for more that 3 yrs it is the requirement of the Canadian Embassy in Malaysia. I am sponsored by my husband and I would like to join him for Chirstmas every other doucments are alright and just that the police certificate has not been obtain by them and its dealing my return to Canada. Its been 9 months that I have been leaving apart from my husband and I miss him alot and so does he, we have each other and I am suffering here staying all alone without and so is my husband. We love each other so much and we are not that young anymore and we have some good years so, please look into this matter and post the police certificate to the Canadian Embassy in Malaysia.
