| Subject: no criminal record check from local police or FBI? |

I am an American looking to apply for permanent residency in Canada. Am I required to get my record check from the FBI or can it come from local authorities? Also, would a misdemeanor charge (parading without a permit) show up as a criminal record, and, if so, is this going to cause problems for my application?

Arrest records show up as criminal record. You will have to explain each to CIC when you send in FBI´s report. If it is convincing there is no problem.
