Subject: Trouble with PRV for my wife in the philippines
I am a Canadian who married in the Philippines. My immigration lawyer sent in our application on June/06.The embassy in Manila has requested my wifes passport along with some other documents which we have supplied.Everyone says this means that the embassy is getting ready to release her visa but now the embassy wants more proof of our "genuine" relationship.I feel that the embassy is playing games and I don´t know why at this stage or what I can do.The only other supporting documents I can give at this time is a copy of my last plane ticket to the Philippines in Oct and some recent phone bills.I guess what I want to know is this still considered normal by the embassy. My wife and I are getting frustrated with the emotional roller coaster.Any advice or comments would be helpfull would be appreciated.

Trouble getting PRV for wife in Phillippines (in reply to: Trouble with PRV for my wife in the philippines)
Don´t get discouraged - you are still well within the processing times for an outside spousal application. Just because they sent for your wife´s passport before they got around to asking for (more) proof that your relationship is genuine doesn´t necessarily mean they´re playing games. They may even still require an interview - there´s really no way to know, you just have to follow their lead. Just know that all of this is a pretty normal part of the processing. I´m assuming you´ve already sent quite a bit of info to prove your relationship is genuine. If so, probably the best "proof" you could send now would be evidence that you have been keeping in contact with one another on a very frequent basis during the last few months, while your ap has been being assessed. Recent phone bills would be a very good thing and a copy of our plane ticket from last month showing you visited. Also, any pictures you might have taken during that visit of the two of you together, or with family, etc., would be helpful. Remember, they don´t know you and they deal with people all the time who "marry" Canadians in order to immigrate to Canada. If you do indeed have a genuine marriage it shouldn´t be that difficult to show it - couples in love usually have a very difficult time being separated and spend lots of time trying to stay in touch, etc. Couples who are not really couples go on with their lives while they´re waiting for PR - especially if they think the Visa is just days away because the passport already got requested. See what I´m getting at? Best of luck.

hi mike !!! i am interested about the post you have here regarding your marriage with a Filipina in the Philippines. Me & my Canadian boyfriend are so in love with each other & the only problem is we cant find a way for us to be together because my application as a tourist visa just got rejected today & i was suppose to visit him this month. We want to be together & we dont know what is the quick procedure. He is also serious about marrying me & goin to MAnila but then again we dont know where to begin & somebody told us that if we would be married in Manila, that we should wait until 1 1/2 years. That would be a long wait. And i know it will cost a lot of money for him cuz hed be goin back & fourth..
Now Mike, May you be kind enough to share us how u got married in the Philippines, what was the requirements needed ? How long have u been waiting & process etc...etc...
We would gladly appreciate your help. thanks in advance.
