Subject: Abrams & Krochak
I just wanted to let everyone know that I recently immigrated to Canada with the help of Abrams & Krochak (www.akcanada.com), and they were very professional and detail oriented from beginning to end. Strongly recommended!

How long (in reply to: Abrams & Krochak)
Hi all,
I know it takes different times for different people but can someone who has migrated to Canada through AK please reply me on how long I should be looking at. I am an Audit, Tax professional with KPMG and I reside in Nigeria. Thanks.

Not so much (in reply to: Abrams & Krochak)
I am using them currently and am finding them to be anything but professional, while polite they are of little assistance. Their communication times leave much to be desired.

I want to switch firms but I don´t know where to go to.

remember, in the case of a skilled worker application the use of a consultant does not help you in any way to make your application go any faster. All they do is check your information, receive and redirect your mail and collect your money.

Whilst i generally agree with you, Sharon about the need (or lack of) for using a consultant.
If you have a particularly complicated case eg. custody issues from a previous marriage , immigration issues in another country etc. They can help "speed it up" by ensuring you provide the correct information the first time around. So that CIC don´t have to ask for additional info.

Having said that I reckon about 90% of cases are straight forward enough to do it yourself.

DIY Skilled Visa (in reply to: Abrams & Krochak)
We are just starting of and looking for advice, If we are a straight forward case would it be beneficial to work on it myself. Were do you start and who would I contact.

www.cic.gc.ca. Keep in mind we are expecting new rules to come out shortly that will affect selection criteria.

Look at the operational manuals that are available online - they explain exactly what CIC is looking for.

Pay yourself instead of a consultant to be careful and detailed. Treat it as an exam - study, think it through carefully, review... and you will be fine.

after you have done all that...and you are still stuck or unsure - consider a consultant.

Excellent Service (in reply to: Abrams & Krochak)
My husband and I are using the services of Abrams & Krochak. They were recommended to us by friends who had earlier used their services and are now happily living in Canada. They have been responsive and professional throughout our dealings with them. The immigration process, generally, is frustrating because of rule changes and wait times. But, I know that we are in good hands. What can be done for us is being done for us. We would never consider hiring a consultant. We have heard too many horror stories. With Abrams & Krochak, the price is right; the service is excellent; and, we are dealing with LAWYERS offering a money-back guarantee. We are very happy with our decision.
