Dear Sir/Madam,
I hold canadian work-permit processed under pilot project which was valid for 6 months. Since my stay extended beyond 6 months I applied for wok-permit extention, I received by one year extention on 7-Nov and completed my medicle test on 24-Nov.
Now in February I need to visit my home country for 3 weeks, but to return to canada I need Temporary Residence Visa?
2. Can I apply for TRV in Detroit Canadian Consulate, if I don´t hv US Visa?
3. How much time this process takes?
4. I need to do medicle again after stamping?
5. Can I extend my work-permit after one year expiry?
Thanks a lot in advance.
Regards
Pankaj

(in reply to: Visa Stamping at Detroit) I believe you sound as an Indian Citizen. Unfortunately to enter the U.S. you need a visa. Since you don´t have a return visa for Canada - it may be very difficult for you to obtain a U.S. visa solely on basis of coming in to get your Canadian work permit stamped.
Don´t they have something as in the U.S. where they do an adjustment of status and you can keep staying in the country.
Your other option is to apply to a U.S university; get a F1 visa and enter as a student and then get your Canadian stamp and go back. It may set you back about 150-200 dollars but is worth it.
