Subject: Migrating to Quebec
  Hello:

I ham looking at migrating to Quebec, Canada, but have a few questions:

1: I have just started taking French classes, with no previous knowledge of the language. I am in the beginner stage. What is the minimum level of language requirement. Would I have to take TEF or would the institute´s certificate be sufficient? I have sufficient knowledge of English, and have scored 9.0 band in IELTS (Academic), that I took in October of 2003.

2: Also, I have a four years Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from USA. Thou, my experience of seven years is in the IT field, with the last 4 years as a Systems Engineer, mostly in the U.S.

Since my experience is in IT (skill shortage in Quebec), but my degree is in arts. Can I get points for both education and experience? I also have a two year diploma in Computer Science from Pakistan, but that is from mid-1980s, not sure if that will count.

Other details that you may need: I am 37 (will be 38 in May) and single.

Thanks for your help.

Ray
