Subject: Canadian female marrying man in Moroco
I am Canadian female in the process of marrying a morocain man in Morocco. I am wondering what documents are required for me to bring and what would be the estimated time that he can join me here in Canada to live? I would appreciate and information that you can send to me. Thank you.

YOU will be first screened by CIC through Missisauga. It usually takes about 45 days (the last I heard, because the timeline moves depending on volume). Then the application will be transferred to Rabat when it can take an additional 5-8 months for your husbands application to be processed.

Make sure you have all necessary documents for your marriage. Each country has different criteria.

Take pictures, retain email, letters, phone bills, plane tickets, anything you can that will verify your relationship is genuine.

The clarity with which you present your case, his police clearances and medical exam all factor into the length of your wait. If CIC requires addtional information or elects to have an interview with your husband - the wait gets extended.

good luck.

Make sure you do not use phone cards when contacting him. It proves that you have an expired phone card not that you actually clled him nor does it show how many minutes the two of you listened to each other breathing. --- Been their done that!

Send lots of cute little cards and have him keep the envelopes with the Canadian stamps on them. It shows dates when the cards were mailed. E-mail that is personal is great just (black out the very personal stuff) and print above the words (PERSONAL).

Make sure he goes after his proof of no convictions now and then send him the medical form with the photo specifications for him to complete.

Never submit his answer to the most important non-numbered question at the end of the sponsored spouse questionnaire without an independent person reading it for content. The same goes for you. Men are from Mars and women are from Venus you will know some of the background of his story and your mind will fill in the blanks.

Men generally have great difficulty writing or speaking about the woman they love but can go on for ever about some sexy movie star or singer.

Remember you have to show a bond, Catherine.

to marry first you need a clearance from the Canadian embassy, make sure you have your birth certificate, driver´s licence, a police check done here in Canada and make sure you have about a month to stay in Morocco for the marriage because it takes 21 days to get through the red tape. just to be accepted to marry. Also make sure you have a full marriage celebration and consumate your marriage i know they will ask- i have been married 3 years and i finally get to bring my husband Houssaine home from Morocco in 2007
