Thanks.

Roger,

Assuming that your PR visa will be stamped into your passport by the day you intend to travel, I need to ask you a stupid question:
Why not land on your PR visa, and subsequently enjoy your vacation? You could kill two flies with one swat and still have up to 3 years time to settle in Canada.

I guess there are some good reasons for doing that.
If you´re not sure when or if you´ll finally move and settle in Canada, you might want to delay your landing so that your residence requirements do not kick in immediately and you have more time in your hand to finally make the big move.

That is true indeed, BigB! :)

Why do I assume that everybody is like me?!? I definitely want to move to Canada ASAP. If I were to receive my PR today, I would likely land in less than a month. I am already making plans, checking out real estate websites, doing my job research in advance.. just waiting for the BIG day.

I would also like to land as soon as I get the passport stamp and I am trying my best to research jobs and property.

The reason I raised the question was that I may not have sufficient time when I visit Canada to complete the landing procedure. And from what I read on this forum, a permanent address provide by me for my PR card may not be accepted. I plan to give my cousin´s address. Maybe I can get a rental lease from her. Do you think that would help?

Thanks,

Roger

Roger,

1. You can land, stay with your relative in Canada if you wish, even give your cousin´s address when you land and receive the PR cards there.

2. You can provide CIC with your cousin´s address when you land (for PR card), but enjoy your vacation and return to your country afterwards.

3. You can also land, not provide any address, still enjoy your vacation and return to your country. If you do not provide an address when you land, you will be given a form to provide one later.

Either way, there are many possibilities if you wish to land, probably as many if you do not wish to land yet. It is certainly and entirely up to you what you will do.

..just a tiny addendum to the above posting:

The actual landing procedure only takes MINUTES.

You probably included obtaining the PR card to the "landing procedure", is that it?
