Focus!

It is probably easier to try to open the email attachment first. If you are not able to do that, forward your entire email to someone who can open it, a friend, your wife, anyone you trust. There are probably valuable instructions included in that attachment that you may want to print, rather than getting it piece by piece from a forum like this one.. Nothing is better than 1st hand info!

What is the extension of the attachment? Do you get an error? Which error? List it here and I will try to walk you through on how to open your attachment.

Thanks for your suggestion, it is in WPD format, tried to convert it from word 2000 and 2003, but it failed, the error message is ´the file may corrupted´, i am not sure the file is right or not. I may e-mail them to request a word format file on Monday if i still can not get it, or do you know if there is a phone number i can call in Buffalo office?

Wang,

The file is definitely in WordPerfect format. Save it onto your desktop first, don´t just open it straight from your email. Once on the desktop, try opening it with MS Word. I have Word and open WPDs on a daily basis and I know for sure that MS Word 2003 opens WPD without the need to convert it. Well, there is a on-the-fly conversion, but it´s not worth to mention here since It happens automatically, without any prompts.

Should this fail, do an internet search for a free WPD viewer program. You do not need to edit, just view and print.

If nothing else works, I still have an alternative for you. Let me know about your progress.

No, none of them are working, most likely, the file itself is bad. what alternative do you have?

Wang,

You can forward the attachment to me:

in_v_z_ble@yahoo.com

If you do, and if there is no corruption in the file itself, I will return it to you as Word within 5 minutes.
If you are concerned about privacy I understand.. So am I.

Regards,

Uniden
