Subject: PR visa validity
  Hi guys,

I recently got my PPR. I´ve been asked to send the Passports before Jan´29 2007.
Can someone tell for sure how much time will be given to me to land?
I did my medicals on 16th October 2006.
I hear 2 versions on visa expiration date. some people say it would be 1 year from the date of medicals and some others say it is true but subject to a maximum of 6 months.

anyone who knows for sure?

thanks

BigB,

It is one year from the date of the medicals. I haven´t heard of any such thing with a maximum of 6 months, at least not pertaining to the Federal Skilled Worker Program.. unless your medicals would expire in 6 months.

In your case you will be given until mid October 2007 to land.

Congrats about your PPR!!! :)
Must feel REALLY GOOD.. I can only imagine, I´m not there yet..

Good Luck!

Uniden

Thanks BigB! :)

I am an ultra-patient person.. I am confident that next year I will be in Canada for X-mas :)
While waiting for my PR I plan, learn, research..
Actually, I was many times in Canada, ..in my imagination. I even speak with a Canadian accent now! :)

Have fun BigB! :)

I have received the PP with the shiny visa .The validay is 1 yr from the date of medical. The expiry date is mentioned in the visa .I think visa is valdid for travel until the expiry dead line is met.

Cool,

Thank you all guys.

BTW Uniden, What is your timeline? I´ll start praying harder if your PPR is within reach. Don´t want to trouble God if it´s not :)
