| Subject: marriage to illegal person |

he is illegal in Canada for 5 years, and he already was deported from Canada( but no criminal record) , but he came back through the back door once again. We live together almost 1 year in Quebec , we would like to get married soon, but he scares to be deported second time.
Does any body in this forum knows what would happened to illegal person like my boyfriend after we will get married?
And I heard about new law, people don?t have to leave and wait outside Canada for PR. How much time this process could takes, months or years to get PR status?
we went to some lawyers, and they said nothing to worry , becouse they dont care what could happened to my boyfried,they asked to bring some cash
please help , tell me what you know, i´m sure alot of people in the same situation.

He broke the law if he entered Canada via the back door as you called it. Entering Canada without reporting to customs is illegal and I think you will find they will deport him and he will be very hard to sponsor!

do not believe these lawyers that just say ´bring money´. you have a problem. he needs to be ´legal´ at the time of application.

Anna you have very little to worry about if the answer was yes. The problem you have is proving that your in a real relationship.
Lets call him BOB!
Bob has to surrender himself after you submit an application to sponsor him. The correct forms are found in the Humanitarrian and Compassionate section. Go to www.cic.gc.ca applications and forms -- Inside Canada -- Humanitarian and Compassionate then scroll down slowly and read inside the red box!!!!!

Search for Operational memo 018 the Departmental Policy changed February 18th 2005 and the rules or regulations were not ammended until September 28th 2005.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN BOB SURRENDERS HIMSELF.
They write a report against him and say we will be in contact. Maybe four months later they call him in for a first Pre Removal Risk Assessment interview and at that time Bob gives them the Canada Post tracking number of the spousal application you have submitted.
Get letters from your friends saying how great Bob has made your life and how Bob is a nice guy towards you etc. etc. and attach your friends status documents to the letter. ONE COMPLETE PAGE

Anna, before you take your money to any lawyers, you must know that your boyfriend is not a good candidate for sponsorship. If he was deported once and came back illegally then he stands a very bad chance of being accepted for sponsorship. Maybe he can volunteer to go back without being deported and marry him and then sponsor him while he is in his country. Do not take any money to the lawyers. Your boyfriend has 2 strikes against him by being deported and coming back illegally.
