Subject: PNP process wait time...
Does the PNP process time gets elongated when the actual applicant has dependent (spouse) added to the application. It´s been 3 months (even though the website says 8 - 10 weeks) since PNP application was applied. This is something urgent that we need to know. Does removing the dependent application increases the processing speed for the main applicant. Please post you suggestions asap. I´m running out of time to stay in the country. Your help is very much appreciated.

not sure what you are asking. did you include your spouse in the first application or are you adding them after the documents were submitted.

´to stay in the country´??? in Canada or somewhere else.

Yes, spouse application was included right in the beginning.
Yes, I´m talking about staying in canada while PNP is getting processed?

not sure why you think it would make it faster to have your spouse removed. what are they going to do - go home and leave you in Canada?

if your spouse gets removed, and leaves (as they would be required to do) you would be facing a sponsorship application to have them join you in Canada. That takes a fair bit of time. The chance of them getting a visitors visa to wait inside Canada are almost zero...

... and we still have not determined if having your spouse on your PNP application is adding any additional wait to your processing!

I would leave things exactly as they are. You are trying to solve a possible crisis by creating a nightmare.

Removing your spouse surely will not make your PNP process fast... and I find this question is not logical.

and about processing time.. it takes around 7-9 months for PNP to process completely. You can surely extend your stay in Canada.... [if on WP then apply for extension] it takes around 2 months now a days.

Thanks Lucky and Sharon for replying to my posting. what if WP is about to expire in next 7 - 10 days while PNP is still under processing? can we apply for extension and stay in Canada?

What are the consequences if one has to leave the country (after expirty of WP) while PNP is under processing? what steps can one take to make sure PNP processing is still intact?

You replies are much appreciated.

If your WP expires you have to go back to your home country, still you dont have to worry, your PNP will still continue, just make sure that you have given your address properly. [it´s imp for healthy communitcation, it can be your company address too]

All the Best

Hi CPR,
If your WP can be extended why not to go for it?, as long as the paperwork for extension reaches the vegreville office before your current permit expires you´ll be fine, you can keep working until a response from the processing office is given to you. Not positive but I believe is called implied status.

Good luck with that.

Thanks Guys for the all replies. This forum so rocks!!!. So if I understand correctly even though WP is close to expiry and as long as the WP extension application reaches vegreville office, applicant can stay in the country. Right?
