Hello everyone
I need some advice from experts or anyone who went throw this stage.I am international student since 2001 and studing in private collage and i have renewed my student visa 3-4 times now last time when i send for extension they gave me my visa till 20th december 2006 because my passport expires on 20th december 2006.they sended a letter with my extension indicating if you wish to extent the vsia you have to have valid passport...So do you think that if i walk to 55 st clair ave they will issue the visa on the spot as i got to knoww from some of my friends that they do it in emergency cases...I have semester break right now but i will need visa to start again in Jan 07...any advice on this will be appriciated..

Murtuza,
Let me see if I got this straight:
1) Your visa was extended with the same expiration date as your passport.
2) Your visa would have been extended for a longer period IF your passport was not set to expire on Dec. 20
Here is what I would advise you just by analyzing the facts (your info) and using common sense:
1) Extend your passport NOW!
2) Extend your student visa
It seems as nobody will want to put a visa in an expiring passport, or extend the status of a person with an expiring passport, which is fully understandable.
There is no emergency I see here, ..other than one you can fix by yourself, and taking care of your passport´s extension NOW must be your absolute priority #1. Visit or call your country´s consular services department and ask about how you can do this ASAP.
If you do not fix your passport situation today, you will have to fix it tomorrow. Do not let your legal status or your student visa expire due to your negligence! Do something about it now!

Small correction:
I keep mentioning "passport extension", but most countries I know only RENEW a passport. If that´s the case in your country too, then get a new passport.

Hello everyone and thanks for the reply...
I have new passport now in my hand i am just wat to know that if i walk in 55 st clair ave will they issue student visa as my student visa expired on 20th december 2006...i ave still 8 months left for my course to finish ...so should i mail vergiville or walk in as if i mail it takes 2 months or more and in that time will i be abl to study (legally)....

I am in international student in Canada. My student visa will expire in September 30,2010. I do not know how to renew it and where I can get a form. I recieved my new study permit now. I try to find in gic.ca but i can not find a appliciantion form. How I can renew my student visa and where I can get a application form?
