Subject: Applying for PR Inland while visiting Canada |

Hi,
If somebody is married to a Canadian but living outside of Canada, are they allowed to visit Canada on a temporary resident visa with the intention of submitting their permanent resident visa application inland rather than from outside of Canada?
If so, would that person be able to leave Canada after submitting the application inland?
Please let me know.

Re: Spouse- In Canada class (in reply to: Applying for PR Inland while visiting Canada) The answer is yes Jorge, you can apply from within Canada as under the spouse in CAnada class. However at the time of approval you must also be in Canada implying that if you leave and for any reason are not allowed to re-enter at the time you´re comming back for your interview (typically 6-9mths) you will not be given the residency and will have to go and reapply from outside the country. So keep that in mind. Definitely visit the Canadian immigration website as you´ll find useful answers on there as well.
