I just received my passport back from Buffalo with a visa stamped on 9 January, today (12 Jan 2007) from Buffalo. However my visa expires on Monday 15 January 2007. Therefore I have to land in Canada by the 15th of January.
Has anyone ever had such a short period of time to land before?
Do yu think they made a mistake up there in Buffalo? SHould I go up there to Buffalo on Monday? Its not holiday for the Canadian Consulate, is it? Any information will be appreciated.

What is the date of your medicals? Can it be that you did your medicals on January 15, 2006? Normally your visa expires indeed no later than the 1-year anniversary of your medical tests..
I do have some good news for you, but hopefully it´s not too late. Since today is already Saturday and you probably can´t do anything about this untill Monday (the 15th, I know..), you will have to ACT QUICKLY!!!

At the bottom of Page 16 / 5.27 "Extending the validity of visas" of the CIC OP1 Procedures Manual (you can find it here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/manuals-guides/english/op/op01e.pdf), you can find following text:
Sometimes, due to factors out of their control, applicants receive visas valid for less than two months. If they cannot travel before their visas expire, officers should update whichever requirement (e.g., medical) used to fix the visa validity. When a new validity date has been obtained, a new visa will be issued.

Yep, go to Buffalo if it is within driving distance, or better yet.. just land if you can, then return the same day to the US as a Canadian PR. Pick the option that is best for you, but do NOT let your visa expire!!!
