Subject: Common Law visa/sponsorship |

My partner is a permanent resident of Canada (not citizen). We have been living together in the UK for 2 years although we do not have any joint bank accounts. My partner is moving to Toronto and I will be following in approx 6 wks when I have my 1 year work visa in place. I´ve been looking on the CICs site at how best for him to sponsor me and see that he could either sponsor me when;
1. He is in Canada and I´m in the uk
2. We are both in Canada
Does anyone know what would be the best option?
Your help is most appreciated.

(in reply to: Common Law visa/sponsorship) Well, I´m not an expert but if you don´t need a visa to visit Canada, you should go with your partner and wait there till the sponsorship process is in process. From my point of view it´s better that being appart waiting. There in Canada you could apply for a work permit, I think.
